THE FLU IS AN UGLY ANIMAL BY JOYCE LAVENE

This was supposed to be a blog about how great the Cape Fear Crime Festival was in Wilmington. It was also supposed to be about 2 weeks ago when I got back from the festival.

Unfortunately, I was waylaid by some flu or another and that blog was lost in everything that happened since then.

But I plan to pick up again and I have some great new Haunts and Eats that are coming!

Wilmington was fantastic! We had an awesome time. I think everyone did - or they were lying. Of course they are fiction writers and anything is possible.

Tthe first question, before the festival was even over, was "Will you do it again next year?"

All I can say is that we've renewed the domain on the website http://www.capefearcrimefestival2.com/. We'll see about the rest later.

Judy Nichols and I basically wanted to hang out with some really great writers in the old town and we accomplished that, so we're feeling successful. We're also donating profits to the New Hanover County Library. That's always a good feeling!

Of course, there were the priceless moments like when author Suzanne Adair brought out her cat'o nine tails. Missed that picture! You had to be there. And there was that author who said -

Well, you had to be there for that too, I guess. It was memorable. Sorry if you missed it.
